Patrick Alan Nunnelee (b. October 9, 1958, in Tupelo, MS) is a former Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Mississippi's 1st Congressional District. Nunnelee was first elected to the House in 2010. He died on February 6, 2015, following a battle with brain cancer. Nunnelee won re-election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Mississippi. He defeated challengers Ron Dickey (D), Danny Bedwell (L) and Lajena Walley (RP) in the general election. He ran uncontested for the Republican nomination in the primary election on June 3, 2014. Nunnelee previously served in the Mississippi State Senate, representing the 6th District.
