Amy Koch (b. October 8, 1971) is a former Republican member of the Minnesota State Senate, representing District 19 from 2005 to 2013. She previously served as State Senate Majority Leader. She resigned from the position in December 2011 after "engaging in a relationship with a Senate staffer." She was first elected to the senate in a special election in 2005. Koch graduated from St. Cloud State with her Bachelor's Degree in 1999 and also served in the US Air Force on active duty from 1992 to 1996. Koch is also a business owner when the legislature is not in session. In May 2011, Governing Magazine named Koch one of 17 "GOP Legislators to Watch." Each of the legislators was selected on the basis of qualities like leadership, ambition, and political potential.
